I am about ready to go postal on these beauracratic government building inspectors.
Im in the process of building an addition on the back of my house. I was supposed to have the foundation poured today but the inspector put a "stop work" on my project because I had a portable shed (12x14) on my property that had 1 hurricane tiedown strap missing and there was never a building permit pulled for that shed (anything over 12x12 is supposed to have a building permit). At the time I ordered the shed 4 years ago it didnt need one. What I didnt know is that the rules changed betweent the time I ordered the shed and the time it was delivered. This @#$$%% decided to snoop around my property purposely looking for any infraction he could find and stop work on a project that had absolutley nothing to do with the minor infractions on adjacent preexisting buildings.
Now the contractor had to reshedule the pouring, which wont take place now friday and i had to take half a day off to go out and buy a hurricane strap and attach it to my shed and spend another hundred bucks for a building permit for my shed.
This is the second "stop work" that inspector had placed on this project. The first one the inspector placed was HIS mistake. He basically didnt know what he was doing.
That caused a 3 day delay in itself. His only response to the first one was "OH, I understand now. I dont know what I was thinking."
You have to have a BRAIN to think you dumb@$$!
After screwing up the first time he had the gall to pull a stunt like this??!!?
AAAAAARRRGGGGGG! Thanks for letting me vent.
