I have a lil Vivitar digital camera, and take the worst pics in the world. They are either out of focus or things look so tiny compared to other pics. What's some good tips on picture taking and what's a good camera to buy that takes quality pics??

not sure on the vivitar, but most digi cams must focus before your finish snapping the pic. On all that I have owned you press the shutter button down halfway while looking at the subject. then it will focus on the subject and then finish pressing the shutter. Also on a camera with no OPTICAL zoom, dont use the zoom at all because it will be digital zoom which distorts the photo more than helps.

Thanks !! I was using the digital zoom cause they were like 100 yds out in the field.I'll try that hold and focus thingy ,maybe practice out in the yard today. #45986980#

I have a Samsung that works Ok. I went out last night and bought another camera though. A Kodak easyshare 340. Works better overall. If you take alot of Zoom shots, get one with the highest optical zoom that you can afford. The digital zoom seems to distort the picture in most of the cameras ive tried.

My dad has the Kodak. I was pretty impressed with the pics he has taken at the races.

I learned about that optical zoom from a friend on another site that I hunt with in Ohio.He takes some of the best pics I've seen, and with a timer,ie,him and his birds. He gave me a few tips that really helped.I used to be ashamed of my pictures compared to most that people post, but maybe now I can post a few with a little pride.I've killed some awesome gobblers over the past few years, and the pics just stink. They look like a prarrie chicken compared to most.

i am happy with my kodak.....sometimes i wish it would have have zoom, but thats ok, just means i have to get closer,lol.......the ohly bad thing abotuthe digital zoom is it having to focus, then take the pic......but if youre not in a hurry , it's not a problem.........
