I went to the range today. I think my muzzle loader likes not being cleaned... This is like the 3rd year I havent cleaned it and its shooting better now than ever.... 300grn Hornady XTP 100grns of 777 50yds 2 just shots. 240grn Hornady XTP 100grns of 777 50yds 3 shots. 180grn Hornady XTP 100grns 777 50yds 2 shots (I forgot to bring my extra primers....) 100yds(didnt have enough primers to shoot at 50...) 250grn T/C Shockwaves 100grns of 777 3 shots. The one in the orange is after I moved the scope. Im hunting with these!

Did I missunderstand or did you say you havent cleaned your muzzleloader in 3 years??!!!? If thats the case, I imagine the rusting and pitting will start taking its toll pretty soon. Nice grouping. I like those shockwaves to.

Does mine like it dirty? Well heck yeah!!! FLH loves getting dirty and nasty!!!! Oh, you meant the muzzleloader??? It likes being clean, but not too clean. I shoot a couple of fouling shots before settling down to business. After each shot, fouling and sighting, I run a patch moistened with saliva down the barrel, and follow it up with 3-4 dry patches, until the last one turns out very light gray color. I shoot 777 pellets. One thing I have found out that holds true on all muzzleloaders is that it shoots to a different point of impact on a clean barrel vs. a fouled barrel vs. a dirty barrel.

I lost all my stuff to take it apart. If it gets bad Ill buy another. Hell they are having a sale with the updated version of mine (Knight Wolverine) going for $99 at Grady's.... And to think I gave $319 for mine back when they came out.... I bought it and a Remington 700 270 at about the same time both were $319, I wish you could get a 700 for 99 bucks now....
Oh yeah, I did figure something out. I have always been bad about fliers with the ML. I figured out what Im doing. Ive been crushing some of the pellets. I felt myself crush some at the range that day and they were BAD fliers. One didnt even hit the paper.

Mine wont hit if you clean it. Before the hunt i load 100 grains of powder and i tight wad, fire it in the garage. Now its ready for the season. if you clean it it will be 6-8 inches low right. Once its fouled it hits the bulls eye.
