I have been shooting powerbelts, but am picking up a box of TC shockwave sabots.
Any news or reviews?

the powerbelts sucked for me....did not like them at all....sabots are the way to go imo.

I shoot a CVA Optima Pro and I tried both bullets in 250 grain bullets and the TC Shock Wave had a much better group then the Powerbelts.I used two 50 grain pellets of 777 Pyradex(sp?) hope that helps you out

I have shot the powerbelts since they first came out without loosing a deer, but since I am out of powerbelts and have about 50 TC shockwave sabots I gues I will use them.Of course I will have to take a trip to the range and see just how well they shoot and which combinations has the tightest grouping.

I shot sabots for years, with good accuracy and great success on the critters. But when I got my Encore, I decided to try out the Powerbelts. I absolutely love them!!! I shoot the 245 grain ballistic tip Powerbelts over (2) - 50 grain 777 pellets. I knock the bullseye out with consecutive shots at 100 yards. You can't argue with that performance. I also used them in my non-scoped mzzl. last year in Georgia. Took a 120 lb. doe, and she dropped in her tracks. That's the only deer I have shot with them. So far, so good, but then again, she was only at 20 yards when I took her.

I shot the powerbelts and have ever since they came out.I have taken several deer with them ; out to 130 to 140 yards.not had a problem.all except one have been pasthru. that one was close(10 yards) down thru the back. they group well for me and my wife. 225 hollow points ; 2- 50 grain pyrodex pellets, 209 primers. if it ain't broke , then don't fix it!.

thanks for the info folks. I also heard that Hornady was making TC shocks?? That's right........ Most reports of the powerbelts lean toward the heavier one shooting better groups.....

I use the power belts Hollow points only. The ballistic points past thru without mushrooming. I knocked deer and hogs over in there tracks The hog i poster from quanna river was a power belt 20 yards shoot the hog made maybe 20 feet it was a 173 lbs. I tried both the 295 grain and the 245 both work well. They both hold excellent group at 100 yard. They load so easy compared to sabots.

I will be using the 250 grain TC superglide shockwaves this fall. The powerbelts just didnt group well enough. However I may experiment with the 300 grain powerbelts and see if the heavier bullet groups better.

I switched to 245 grain power point and my group spread from within 3 in 3 inch at 100 to3 in 6-7inch. Have to go back to range with the 295s. The ballistic tips are not good for deer and hogs they tend to just pass thru without expansion. The best grouping with my gun was using black powder 110 grains with the 295 PP. I dont know if that the diferance wieght or powder will test and reply again

What problems did you have. I ran the ballistic tips once big mistake just like there packages say there for deep penetration. They never get a chance to expand out our little game.
